It is a privilege to welcome you to our Independence Elementary School (IES) community. As principal of this beautiful campus, steeped in rich tradition and history, I am committed to ensuring IES is an exceptionalplace to learn and grow. As your neighborhood school, we have served generations of families for over 90 years, and know this relationship with the community is important to our success.
We are committed to ensuring that children have a safe learning environment, and we encourage you to help support us in these efforts. To ensure the IES campus is a great place to learn and grow, we demonstrate ourthree school rules of respect, safety, and responsibility through the following H.E.A.R.T. skills:
Our staff is dedicated to serving children and families, and we take pride in doing so. Our teachers are committed to professional practice, and work hard to provide rigorous, comprehensive standards-based instruction. We are proud to offer robust music, physical education, and library instruction to our regular school day. Additionally, our students and staff participate in our IES tradition called "Team Time" every morning - where we demonstrate ourteamwork through 15-20 minutes of exercise and dance, and additionallydemonstrate our collective H.E.A.R.T. skills.
Please drop in often, sign in at the office and pick up a visitor sticker and be part of our exciting work. Your partnership is key to the success of our elementary program. Thank you for the opportunity to serve you and your children. It's a privilege to be your elementary principal. Thank you for teaming up with us for this outstanding school year.
